A gentle way to talk about worry

You do not have to fix every feeling. You can help your child learn that feelings are welcome, and that they can choose what to do next.

Try it right now

Children in the app meet three minds. See if you can tell who is talking.

“I want to scream!”

Three things to try at home tonight

  • Name the volume. Try, “That feeling is loud. Let’s turn the volume down together.”
  • Welcome the feeling first. Big feelings are not bad. They are just loud. Then look for the Wise Mind answer together.
  • Ask at dinner. “Which mind did you use today?” There are no wrong answers, only practice.

What the app adds

The Anxiety Cure for Children App turns these ideas into games your child will want to play: naming feelings, playing thought detective, finding the Wise Mind answer and trying calming tools with friendly characters. Pictures and words appear together, so children who cannot read yet can play too.

When to reach out for more help. If your child’s worry is getting in the way of daily life, please talk with your pediatrician or a licensed counselor. If a child is in crisis, call or text 988 or contact your local emergency services.
